his sweet little legs

blowing bubbles under the umbrellas

He kept tossing the guys into the bushes because he thought the chipmunks would come out.

He loves frogs and this is a new guy. I lost count how many this makes?

almost home. home sweet home.

I love my time with Noah. I am so blessed.

We have been out and about the last few days exploring. We have signs of allergies to prove it. I want to enjoy any time we have out side because it will hit the 90’s this week. It is pretty much summer here on out, meaning very, very hot. Today, it is nice and breezy and 70, wish it would stay like this forever;)

My heart is healing and life goes on and we are very blessed and this I am thankful for.

Happy Tuesday!

RIP My Sweet Mira

We put my sweet girl to sleep yesterday. She was over 18 years old. We took her in as a stray and gave her a good life and she was very much loved. She made every move with us and never complained. Always a loyal cat. We have great memories with her.

RIP my sweet Momma we will miss you and keep you in our hearts. Thank you for 18 years of sweet love.

Happy Friday – sun flare

Wow, we have a lot of cloudy and rainy days here lately. I really don't mind it all that much but it is Fiesta time here and not so much fun with rain. My nephew is in town this week from San Francisco and my niece from Houston. I plan on cooking dinner for my big family this weekend.

The above photo made the Shutter Sister on Picture Spring  from the class I am taking. I was more than happy to see it on there before bed the other night. I really like that class and plan on taking it again for the summer session. If you are interested you should take the class too, it is at Big Picture Scrapbooking with Tracy Clark from the Shutter Sisters. It is just a fun class to shoot a different subject every day. Most days I just use the class photo for my 365.

Well, have a great weekend and

happy Friday!

Strawberry Festival Fun

Noah had the best of time. He rode lots of rides over and over. The weather was really perfect too.

Recently Updated34

It was a blast seeing him enjoy it all.

When he got on this swing ride he was the only one riding. Then this sweet girl came and sat next to him. The way they looked at each other was beyond cute.

He took his glasses off to get a better look at her. I have no idea what he was thinking but it was the funniest thing ever. They just smiled, laughed and were silly while going round and round. It really was just so sweet!

Special Exposure Wednesday – race day

Recently Updated30

Joel and Noah ran in the Fiesta Mission race on Saturday. It was a rainy day, mud every where and wet and yucky but it was fun. Joel ran first. He came in 23rd over all and 4th in his age group. I think there were over 500 runners?

Recently Updated32

Noah ran next in the kids 1/4 mile race. He loves to run in races. He had a good time. Joel and I love seeing him run and with that smile on his face makes the world wonderful and right. He enjoyed a hotdog before his race and after. He must have been so hungry?

Recently Updated33

We were all so tired after. We got home cleaned up, ate and took naps. I’m so proud of my boys!

Happy Friday

We have rain today and yesterday. We always need it but we wanted to play out side today and Fiesta started yesterday. oh well.

It has been crazy here with the Shaggy problem. I finally gave in and called the base plumber yesterday and the guy came right over snaked it and off he went. I didn't tell him what happened. I have lost count how many times they have come? Can you believe last night after dinner I hear flushing and there is Noah with two little character dolls, one in hand and one in toilet. We got it out. I'm pretty sure nothing went down this time. Although Scooby Doo can not be found today.  He will go months with out doing this and then boom it starts all over again.

If I don't run away from the crazy going on here I hope to have a wonderful relaxing weekend. In the mean time, back to cleaning.

Happy Friday!

Special Exposure Wednesday – poor Shaggy

Recently Updated26-1

Two nights ago I took photos of Noah in the tub with the gang, the gang he so loves. I had just a day before given him back Shaggy after I glued him and fixed him up.

I went to take a short rest while he is in the tub playing only to hear the toilet running. Joel finds the gang in the toilet with Daphne and Shaggy missing. First, we put him back into the tub. Pull the gang out into bleach water, clean up water all over floor. Joel digs out Daphne. We get a wire hanger and some little thing we bought at the hard ware store but no luck, then the snake, still nothing. Gone for ever that Shaggy!

Yesterday, I had to deal with a bad toilet who has a Shaggy blocking the pipe some where. It was not fun. So much cleaning up for one bathroom. So, we had to use the other bathroom. Joel got home from work and I told him to fix it and I went to Target to walk around. I get home to see a new batch of dirty wet towels…. he flushed the toilet to see if it worked before he snaked it. Water every where once again. UGH!

Besides Noah crying and wanting his Shaggy it really is all funny. My poor Noah. I will be so very happy when he is over his fascination with the toilet and wanting to flush every toy down it. Until then… I am on bathroom guard. Every time I hear him even going near the bathroom I run to see what he is doing. Usually when I let my guard down is when it happens. Lets hope it doesn't happen anymore!

Happy Monday

IMG_6142IMG_6181-1  IMG_6171-1

Just a few photos from the weekend. Joel helped me out with holding some hearts for a few photos. He is such a good sport.

A little annoyed with Picasa today. It had a bug and wouldn't work right last night. I had to uninstall it today and reinstall and it has taken all day and still going. :( I mostly use it for looking over what I have, keeping track, fast water marking,  making collages, and some times photo editing. This is the second time in a month that it was acting funny.

Anyway. I think we might be eating dinner at Chili’s tonight. Our local ds group will be getting a percentage of all sales from tonight when you bring in a flyer or tell them you want it to go to the ds group.  A night off from cooking and for a good cause… sounds great to me.

Happy Monday!

We had a good time

This photo was on the way out of the festival. Noah was crying because he didn't want to leave. He wanted to get on more rides and wanted to ride some scary swing thing( I would never let him ride that). He cried half the way home.

But, he had a good time, a really good time. We went at the perfect time too, because there was a line of cars for miles to get in when we were leaving ( we had no line when we got there). He rode so many rides, such a big boy. I loved seeing how excited he was about every thing. I took  a ton of photos but these are the only two I processed so far. I am suffering from allergies being out at the festival and my eyes will hardly stay open. ugh!

Happy weekend!

Happy Friday

We will have a busy weekend. Miracle League baseball started up last week and we missed the first game. Noah’s team plays at 9am tomorrow. He will be so happy to be back with all his friends and playing ball.

Morgan’s Wonderland opens tomorrow afternoon. It will be a big opening with locals David Robinson from the San Antonio Spurs and Eva Longoria from Desperate House Wives along with others. We wont be going since I think it will be way to many people for Noah to be comfortable. It would be so great to go and see the big opening though. But, we will go in a week or so. Here is a link to see video of the park in a 3 part series Morgan's Wonderland. We sure are blessed to have this in our city and to have Gordon Hartman and all that he does helping the special needs community.

I hope we will be able to make the Poteet Strawberry Festival one day this weekend. I have never been and I really want to go. I saw the grounds the other day when Noah and I went driving in the country and it looked like fun.

We have all the other usual stuff to do too so busy, busy!

Happy Friday!

our adventures from the past Tuesday

I'm taking a spring photo class this month for 30 days called Picture Spring. This photo of my feet was my self portrait. About 5 seconds of taking this I was running down the street trying to catch Noah’s new Easter balloon ball my niece got him. It is one of those kind that has a rubber band and you punch it with your hand real fast to make it keep going. I ran and ran like a mad woman every time I almost got to it the wind took it again and again. I almost gave up but finally I caught it! I must have looked like a nut running with a camera around my neck chasing a big blue balloon ball. When I got back to our yard Noah was laughing like crazy. :)

I thought that balloon ball would make for a good photo in the wild flower fields. I also took along my new vintage suit case. After the running though I decided it would be best not to take the balloon ball out of the car:) I was in search of blue bonnets, a big field of them. So I drove 30 miles out to Poteet. I saw lots of fields and good spots but I was so scared to stop the car and no way was I going to get Noah out with huge trucks going by so fast. UGH! so upset. I did jump out to get these two photos though. The top one made Explore on Flickr today:) So excited!

Noah loved these guys and so wanted to get out of the car. Bummer I didn't get to get his photo in the flower fields but I am not done looking for the perfect one yet. I still have time before the heat kills them all. When we got home all he wanted to do was run when he got out of the car, after that long car ride. He is such a good sport!

IMG_5761a copy

I did find a good field of blue bonnets the other day, photo below. I just wanted to get some good ones of  Noah in a nice field of them, in good light. So the hunt continues!

Special Exposure Wednesday – some favorite things

Recently Updated25

Just some favorite things Noah loves.

He loves rice and beans and tortillas any day.

Visiting the book store.

Running any chance he gets.

Blowing bubbles. I like to keep the bubbles outside but I have to clean up bubble mess in the house all the time.

Loves kick ball all day and night.

Asks to go to Target all the time. Must ride in cart and eat pop corn and drink soda. When we get to the toy section he wants out and fast. He likes to fill the cart with things and I take them out when he is not looking.

Easter photos

Recently Updated15

Noah had a great day.  He liked his basket of goodies from the bunny. He didn't care at all for the peeps but thought they were cute. He hasn't touched the chocolate bunny at all but did eat his lifesaver gummies( his favorite). We had the egg hunt at my parents house. My sister always has a ton of confetti eggs for Noah and he loves to crack them on his head and on everyone else. He helped make cupcakes and he colored eggs the night before. He still thinks Santa brings the Easter basket.  He is too cute! It was a wonderful day… hope your was too!

He did it!

Recently Updated11

He got this Radio Flyer yesterday for Easter from my parents. He so wanted to ride it but was nervous about it yesterday. Today, he got right on and he did it. Wow, I am so proud of him. He has been watching all the boys on the street ride, so I think that helped. He still wont ride his bike from being nervous so, this is really great!

Took him to ENT earlier today. He still has fluid in both ears, it has been more than three months. So, finally he will be getting ear tubes. They will be his 4th set of tubes. He has not had tubes in 5 years, when he got them back in Pittsburgh. The dr is going to give a good look around once he is put out for the tubes to see if anything could be causing his sleep apnea. He will be getting another sleep study to see what is going on. This will be his 5th sleep study. These are new drs from our regular ones since we are seeing military drs. Tubes wont be put in till next month. They are closing pediatrics on the AFB and moving them to the Army base, so that is where he will have the surgery next month.

Happy Monday!

Oh, I used Picasa to do this and the kick ball layout.

Happy Easter Wishes

SP ~ Sprout

Hope everyone has a wonderful and Happy Easter!

Noah woke to a basket of goodies that made him oh so happy. I have been working on laundry and making a lemon cake and cup cakes to take to my parents house for Easter dinner. Joel had to run to Wal-Mart to get batteries for a toy the Easter Bunny brought. We have yet to have our egg hunt (waiting for the grass to dry from a little rain). We went to Mass last night and came home to color eggs. So, all is well here. :)

Happy Easter!

Happy Friday

The other night we walked to the tennis courts, where he loves to run around.

Made a stop at this old bus stop. The kids on base wait for the school bus at these stops.

We took the old red wagon for when he gets tired. He had fun pulling.

Along the way we ran into some girls walking a bunch of dogs. He loved on the dogs and then decided it was time to ride the rest of the way home.

I really am thankful for simple little photos I get to capture of our everyday life. They really do make my heart happy. Doing a 365 this year has made me take photos every day. I thought it would be so much work but it has turned out to be a blessing and I enjoy it. I have so many captures of wonderful memories I wouldn't have if I wasn't doing a 365. Plus, I am learning about my camera along the way. Life is good!

Happy Friday!

Some fun stuff

Recently Updated9

I love that Noah enjoys side walk chalk. We have a bucket full of assorted colors. He so needs the strength in his little hands. It is such a good thing we can spend a lot of time out side because I have the school room in such a mess. I really need to clean it out (again).

Oh, look what we found at the book store… Scooby Doo! Love these little books and so does Noah.

Well, my sister took off from work today and Noah and I are meeting her and my Mom for lunch and shopping. Have a good Thursday!
